Goodbye old friends
My friends list just got a lot smaller. I decided to finally do a friends cut after all this time. I still kept a few who I should probably delete since the last time they updated was back in 2012 and then there are some that have just never bothered to interact regardless of me trying with them. I don't know why people do that. They never comment on your journal yet the expect you to on theirs. The whole point of adding people to your friends list is to interact and actually be friends.

I cut people who haven’t updated since 2011 or people who abandon their journals for dreamwidth and were not going to make a return to livejournal. It was bittersweet because I felt I was just holding onto those journals for old memory sake since some of them I had known since I was 19. Hopefully I didn't cut anyone I didn't mean too. I tried very careful when I went down the line.

omg, I just realized I un-added you in the cut....which wasn't meant to happen. *fixes.* Sorry about that!

While Livejournal hasn't been the same for a long time and they still really need to fix things, what keeps me here are all you guys who haven't left for other blog sites etc. I'm all for twitter for quick little things, it's fun but having a blog just makes things more personal...if that makes sense. That's so true though sadly. Same here.

Ahaha, actually when I changed my name I hit the wrong button and it unadded me from everyone's list! I was like "..." and then just sat in the corner in shame.

I honestly stay here because unlike the other media sites, I LOVE the option of locking entries (not for wank but for Friends Only type things where I post personal stuff or just posting a rant only I can see and moving on. It's therapeutic) and the fact you need to spend time on here. I like reading the long entries that people post on here because I feel connected unlike tumblr where someone just clicks a button and keeps scrolling. I feel like here I can wave to someone and they'd wave back. If that makes sense.

I'm the same way, I like that sense of privacy because a lot of people only write things for their friends to see and not the rest of the internet. You can't really do that on a lot of these other blogging sites. That's why it makes me kinda sad at times LJ tries to thrive to be like them, but in doing that they've just driven people away. They still have a lot of features that make them different from Tumblr though.

That's what I hate about Tumblr. So many people NEVER read anything on there and it's really very sad.

Tumblr is very much an instant website. While I like it for the pretty pictures on there, opinions are as short as a tweet and anyone who writes things longer is ignored because 'tl;dr'. Opinions need to be quick, current, and sexy. Only some opinions matter. Everything moves so fast on there that it's rather hard to keep up with who is a bastard now before it's onto someone else. It makes me feel like I was never connected with anyone. Plus, their message box is stupid. I hate that limit. I try to talk to people on there but urrrrgh.
